About

Blue Lake is my project for compositions made with guitar, self-designed zithers, winds, strings, and percussion.
After many years of playing in bands, most notably Squares and Triangles (with Maria Zahle, Dustin Ericksen, Sam Porritt, and Tony Faroux), I began building my own percussion and string instruments, and recording regularly both in Copenhagen and in trips to the countryside in Sweden.
After the first Blue Lake album, called The Parrot, which was made partly solo and partly in collaboration with the Squares and Triangles members, I began working entirely solo, as a means of exploring what my solo music could be.
I self-released the LPs Moving and Stikling in 2020 and 2022, which increasingly focused on the self-built zithers, particularly a large 48-string instrument I built in the summer of 2021. Around this time I began to play live more, and also began working with musicians in Copenhagen to form a touring band.
In 2023, I began working with the label Tonal Union and released the album Sun Arcs, which I recorded mostly in Andersabo, in rural Sweden. I also began playing live more extensively, both solo and with a band: Carolyn Goodwin on clarinets, Oliver Laumann on drums, Pauline Hogstrand on viola, and Tomo Jacobson on double bass.
